The fuel discount of 25 cents per liter will continue until the end of the year. The interim government is considering a continuation next year as well, but already targeted on the basis of people’s income, as well as on the basis of “who uses the means”, ie. people who use public transport and railways.
This was announced to NOVA by Transport Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in the interim government, Hristo Alexiev.
BGN 40 million will be needed for December and the government has already provided it. However, the measure will be rethought and modified for next year.
That is why Hristo Alexiev calls the attention of the people’s representatives to focus on the taxation of excess profits in the energy sector.
The government remains focused on efforts to reduce energy prices. And at the moment, Bulgaria is left with some of the cheapest fuel in Europe, and the problem remains with people’s incomes.
However, October data shows that inflation is already on the decline. This is happening for the first time. However, the negotiation of a higher minimum wage should be done at the level of social partners, Hristo Alexiev explained.
