The measure to purchase fuel at a 25 cent discount for all individuals will continue to operate after the new year. This was announced on the “This Morning” program by acting Minister of Economy Nikola Stoyanov.
He has repeatedly said that the measure should be suspended because it is not socially just. In the show “Why, Mr. Minister?”, You even called her a “lobbyist”.
The difference is that now it will be financed from Lukoil’s super profit, not from the state budget, the minister specified. He reminded that “Lukoil” has already paid BGN 90 million in advance.
In the future, we are working on having this measure targeted at the most vulnerable groups, people with lower incomes, and on compensatory measures for public transport, but they have not yet been worked out, Stoyanov said.
According to him, they will be phased in from the end of January. The idea is to target people with incomes of up to BGN 1,000, who are likely to receive a document from the municipality and choose from a package of measures, including discounted travel on public transport and BDZ.
