Jovic deliberately denies violating quarantine: “Got incorrect instructions” NOW

Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic has gone deep through the dust after not following any quarantine rules imposed by the Serbian government. Nevertheless, the Serbian international emphasizes that there is no deliberate error. He says he’s been misinformed.

Serbian Minister of the Interior, Nebojsa Stefanovic, lashed out Thursday at “sports millionaires who flout the rules”. Without mentioning names, he meant the 22-year-old Jovic.

On social media, images of Jovic had previously surfaced at the birthday party of his girlfriend Sofija Milosevic. He has also been seen on the street several times in the Serbian capital Belgrade, while he should have been quarantined.

After a Real Madrid basketball player had previously tested positive for the corona virus, both the basketball team and the football team – including Jovic – were quarantined for two weeks. Both teams train at the same accommodation.

However, Jovic flew back to Serbia, where according to national rules he should have been quarantined for 28 days. The police in Serbia already opened an investigation. According to the player himself, who was bought from Eintracht Frankfurt for 60 million euros last summer, the debt is largely not with him.
