The Métropole du Grand Nancy, to help its traders and allow them to bounce back from the confinement, launched a local market platform in June: Buy Grand Nancy. This site and project funded by Greater Nancy brings together more than 200 traders and artisans, divided into 11 categories, on a single platform. The goal is to facilitate purchases with “click and collect” services, home delivery or relay point but also to support traders in the municipalities of the metropolis.
To find out more, we went to meet some traders. Concretely, here is what they think:
The manager of “La Comtesse du Barry”, a delicatessen store in Nancy, wanted to have a site of this type for a year. It takes a long time to put all the products online, but the advantage is that there are no fees unlike a personal website.
The manager of the “Soeurs Macarons” house hopes that there will be more and more traders who invest in the project and that there will be an increase in the products offered on the site. He also recommends that home delivery be made easier.
In addition to the products in the shops, there are also service offers, such as those of “Forma Plume”, which offers foreign language courses in Saint-Max. The interest for this institute is to make better known its formulas of courses and workshops offered. While the site has yet to make itself known because it is recent, it seems that consumers today are placing more and more importance on buying local for ecological and ethical reasons.
Today we buy more and more easily on the internet and e-commerce has grown very strongly lately, and more this year due to the health crisis.
In addition to helping the economy, this platform allows everyone to commit to their territory by consuming locally.
