dead Silvia Tortora. All his life he followed in his father’s footsteps and, all his life, he defended him. Journalist for both TV and print media, Tortora was born in Rome on November 14, 1962: she was 59 and was in hospital for some time in a Roman clinic. Daughter of the journalist and television presenter Enzo Tortora, she had spent most of her career in Rai, dealing with reconstructing the history of our country. He had long worked with Gianni Minoli, a Mixer, already starting in 1985. Later she joined the editorial staff of We are history, making a series of great interviews.

The carreer
Together with her younger sister Gaia, the journalist had always been at the forefront in defending her father’s reasons: both during the trial that saw him convicted and then acquitted for Camorra association, but also after his death. Tortora had wanted to remember and reconstruct the figure of the pope also through a film, A decent man, by Maurizio Zaccaro: the subject was hers and in 1999 it had earned her the silver ribbon at the Taormina Festival. A story lived with pain and great bitterness. From my point of view, nothing has changed: they are 30 years of bitterness and disgust – he said on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the death of Enzo Tortora -. I was expecting a reform of the judicial system, but it didn’t happen. The processes go on indefinitely. Indeed in thirty years there has been a numerical explosion.
The publications
–
The journalist had not only worked for television but also for printed paper: after collaborating with the weekly Epoca she had also published several books, including Cara Silvia (Marsilio 2002) which collects the letters that her father Enzo wrote her from prison. Since 2009 he had conducted Big with Annalisa Bruchi, on Rai 3. She was the mother of two children, Philippe and Michelle, had by her husband, the French actor Philippe Leroy. At the announcement of his death there was a great emotion. Among the many comments, that of the journalist Luigi Contu: Silvia Tortora is gone. She was a very good journalist but above all a great, courageous woman. His life was turned upside down by the absurd story of his father. I recommend reading the book in which she collected the letters that her father wrote to her from prison. Hi Silvia.
