You have surprised me several times in my life. For example, when you went from working as a journalist who met world stars to writing about food. However, you surprised me the most when you found a boyfriend 23 years younger. How does this happen?
You don’t plan that. I didn’t want it to happen, but it happened. I had a long marriage and a divorce, I lived alone for a few years, I met men of different ages. I focused primarily on my peers, but mostly they were pretty sad stories.
Why?
Although they were in their fifties, they were generally very immature men with disorganized lives, completely unclear priorities and strange rankings of values.
What is it? What are fifty-somethings like today?
I couldn’t decipher that. I don’t want to throw everyone in the same bag. I went to dating sites because in the environment I was in, I couldn’t find someone with whom I could imagine my future.
I perceived it in the way that I would meet men on a dating site that I would not have met in normal life. That I would broaden my spectrum, socially, intellectually… And I succeeded. But I couldn’t find anyone with whom it would make sense.
