It was the attraction of this Thursday, June 16, 2022 by the beach of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer (Calvados). Director Isabelle Mergault, her film crew and her cast, including Josiane Balasko and of Lambert Wilson filmed for the last time on the beaches of Calvados, before returning to the Paris region to continue and conclude “Hands of Gold”. “We shot a full week on the Côte de Nacre, explains the production. We went to Luc-sur-Mer, Saint Aubin, but also Courseulles-sur-Mer. »
200 local extras
Thursday, facing the sea, on the Maurice Guillot promenade, the curious are gathered in front of the technical teams, looking for the two main actors. These spectators mingle with a few extras. Pierre, 75, shot in a scene earlier today.
“I have already done a bit of extra work in my life. My niece knew, and sent me the announcement, he recalls. I didn’t have a casting, we just had to pass with my wife in the background. At first, they wanted us to have a dog, but they were afraid he wouldn’t be big enough! »
On site since mid-morning, Pierre was still waiting at 5:30 p.m. to shoot another scene.
That’s being an extra, you have to wait a lot. But the production takes great care with us, so it’s done well!
In total, 60 technicians, a dozen actors and around 200 local extras will take part in the feature film.
–Why the Côte de Nacre?
The plot imagined by Isabelle Mergault stages a meeting between the two star actors, when they come from very distinct social categories. But why does the story take place on the coast ?
It is a place that has an important place in Isabelle’s heart. She wrote her film with Saint-Aubin in mind.
The whole team still has about twenty shooting days planned. “We keep about three minutes a day of what we shoot”, specifies the production. The film is set to hit the big screens in 2023.
