Eventually, CCTV footage became the key to uncovering Ferdy Sambo’s engineering. In the indictment of Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, accused of tampering with CCTV cameras that obstructed the investigation into the Joshua murder case, it was revealed how the contents of the CCTV cameras were discovered.
Brigadier General Hendra was accused of committing the act together with Kombes Agus Nurpatria Adi Purnama, AKBP Arif Rachman Arifin, Commissioner Chuck Putranto, Kompol Baiquni Wibowo and AKP Irfan Widyanto, but they were tried in separate files.
Initially, the prosecutor said that on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, Ferdy Sambo was very nervous because he feared that the shooting against Joshua that took place at his official residence would be exposed. Ferdy Sambo also asked Chuck to see the contents of the recording and delete it. Then Chuck contacted Baiquni Wibowo to copy and view the contents of the Duren Tiga Complex CCTV DVR.

Then Chuck Putranto handed his car keys to Baiquni Wibowo to get the CCTV DVR that was stored in his car, “the prosecutor said in a trial at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel), Wednesday (19 / 10/2022).
After copying the contents of the CCTV DVR to Flash Disk and his laptop, Baiquni met Chuck at the Duren Tiga Police Complex. At that time, Wednesday July 13, 2022, at 02:00 WIB, after police had conducted a crime scene or crime scene, Chuck with Baiquni and Arif and Ridwan Rhekynellson Soplanit (at the time as chief of criminal investigation at the South Jakarta police) saw the CCTV footage.

Prosecutors said Chuck was the first to realize Joshua was alive after seeing the CCTV cameras. CCTV footage was replayed, then Baiquni, Arif Rachman and Ridwan also saw Joshua wearing a white T-shirt walking from the front door to the side door of the official Sambo house from 5:07 pm WIB to 5:11 pm WIB in that tragic day, namely Friday, July 8, 2022..
“Baiquni Wibowo played between 17.07 WIB and 17.11 WIB and they saw that it was true that Joshua Hutabarat was wearing a white shirt and was walking from the front door of the house to the side door through the garden of Ferdy Sambo’s official residence,” said the Public minister.
This surprised Arif because he didn’t expect the surveillance camera footage to be inconsistent with the National Police Headquarters press conference. The prosecutor said this at the same time dismissed Ferdy Sambo’s scenario.
“It is undeniable that what Ferdy Sambo said about Joshua Hutabarat’s death was due to a shootout between Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat and Richard Eliezer before Ferdy Sambo arrived at Duren Tiga’s official residence,” the prosecutor said.
In short, Arif then called Hendra Kurniawan. Then they went to Sambo and told him about this, but Sambo threatened his men not to reveal it and destroy the CCTV footage.
