German midfielder Joshua Kimmich has spoken about his short-term intentions as his name continues to dominate the transfer news.
With only one year left on his contract at Bayern, Joshua Kimmich is strongly expected to move during the current transfer window. However, his departure is not yet certain. The experienced German midfielder also does not rule out the idea of continuing with the Bavarian giant.
Asked about his future at a press conference, Kimmich said: ” We can always talk to each other reasonably. All doors are open to everyone.” Basically, he could just as easily change his surroundings as extend his contract with the Munich team. When asked afterwards whether he still feels good in Munich, he replied: “Generally speaking, I feel very good here. All my children were born here, we built a house here. Last season was not a success, of course, it is not the level of FC Bayern nor mine. I am very hungry for the new season and we have big goals together.”
Kimmich set to stay?
Continuing the adventure at the Allianz Arena is also Bayern’s desire. Bavarian sporting director Max Eberl recently declared in an interview with World on Sunday : “He still has one year left on his contract. We agreed that we would talk after his holidays. Joshua is a very good player, but it is generally true that professional football is a sport where we cannot say to a particular player: ‘Hey, you, you are staying’.”
The German full-back, who has less than a year left on his contract, is a target of former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Paris SG have also made inquiries about him in recent weeks.
