Joshua Jackson succeeds Michael Douglas for the remake of Fatal Liaison

A serial version is developed for the Paramount+ platform.

After playing the Dr. Death for the American platform Peacock, Joshua Jackson will resume a cult role in cinema. He will play the main role of the series Fatal Liaison, adapted from the 1987 film.

He will play Dan Gallagher, who had a brief affair with a young woman named Alex. The latter will become obsessed with him.

The former of Dawson will therefore succeed Michael Douglas and it’s Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) who will have the heavy task of taking over from Glenn Close, in the skin of the stalker mistress.

We are told of a “deep reinvention” of the film. A series that “will explore timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes toward strong women, personality disorders, and coercive control”.

This adaptation of Fatal Liaison is currently being written by Alexandra Cunningham (Dirty John) and Kevin J. Hynes (Scorpion), for the Paramount+ platform.
