After three very stable races at the ILCA WC in Argentina, Josefin Olsson has advanced to a silver place after a total of four races. In Saturday’s three races, she was third-second-second and is now just two points behind Danish Olympic champion Anne-Marie Rindom, who is leading.
– Fun but tough racing today. We had three long races in a lot of wind and big waves. I was quick on the cross and gave everything I had which paid off, says Josefin and continues:
– We had a fluctuating wind with certain pressure differences, so it was also important to keep your head with you and see where the pressure was. My last start was weak otherwise I am very happy with the day.
Saturday offered fine racing weather with blue skies and a northerly wind of 7-10 m/s. It was only when the boats were in port that heavy rain moved in. The forecast for Sunday is glorious summer weather with sunshine, a temperature around 24 degrees and a southwesterly wind around five m/s.
Now four out of a total of twelve races have been completed. The plan is to sail two races per day until Wednesday, January 10, when the WC will be decided in a medal race with the top ten.
