Jose Mourinho, the coach of the Italian club, Roma, expressed his pride in his team, despite losing to Sevilla, Spain, on penalties, in the European League final, on Wednesday.

Moroccan international goalkeeper Yassin Bounou led his team, Seville, to crown the European League title in its history, after its 4-1 victory on penalties over Roma, Italy, after the two teams tied with a goal in the original and extra games.

Mourinho said in statements to “Sky Sport Italia”: I won five final matches and lost this match, but I return home with feelings of pride again, the players gave everything they could.

And he continued: We felt pressure in front of a team more talented than us, we lost a match, but not dignity. I have never returned home with such feelings of pride, even when I won.

Mourinho promoted Rome to the final of the European League this season after leading him to the European Conference League title last season, but he failed to be the only record holder for the number of European titles won as a coach, and he continued to share the lead with Giovanni Trapattoni with five titles each.
