Roma –
Jose Mourinho I often lose my job because I’m fired. But, behind the dismissal, Mourinho earned a big severance pay!
Mourinho has just been fired AS Roma after the capital team’s poor results this season. Roma is not only slumped in the middle of the Serie A standings, but also eliminated from the Coppa Italia.
After all, his performance in the Europa League was also unsatisfactory. Mourinho reportedly also does not get along with several players and is at odds with management.
This dismissal adds to the long list of clubs that have fired Mourinho throughout his career. Mourinho doesn’t seem to be able to end the third season syndrome.
However, Mourinho may always be the one smiling broadly after his dismissal. Because quoted by the Daily Mail, Mourinho received a total of 101 million US dollars or around Rp. 1.5 trillion as compensation for his dismissal.
From Roma, Mourinho only received 3.7 million US dollars considering that his contract expires next summer. However, previously Mourinho was laid off many times before his contract expired, so he was given large severance pay.
Chelsea paid Mourinho severance pay twice, namely 22.5 million US dollars in 2007 and 10.5 million US dollars in 2015. Then, in 2013, Mourinho received 21.5 million US dollars from Madrid.
The largest severance pay received when he was fired by Manchester United in 2018, namely around 25 million US dollars. After that he got 19 million US dollars from Tottenham Hotspur after working 17 months.
No coach has ever received such large compensation. After Mourinho, there is Antonio Conte in second place with 47 million US dollars (Rp. 734 billion), with 33 million US dollars obtained from Chelsea in 2018.
