Dr. José Joaquín Puello, president of the Luis Eduardo Aybar Sanitary City, recommended that the population not “leave their homes” this weekend, due to the circulation in the country of the new variants of the coronavirus (Covid-19) , from Brazil and the United Kingdom.
The doctor’s message occurs when the Dominican Republic celebrates “Mother’s Day” tomorrow, the date on which many citizens travel to the towns to visit their parents.
“You must take care. This mothers day spread the idea that we do not visit. If your mother is in another locality, not even within the same town or neighborhood, do not visit her. You have to stay home this weekend, ”recommended Puello.
The health professional said that the Health Cabinet of the Executive Branch is waiting for “important outbreaks” to occur after this Sunday and the Corpus Christi holiday.
Puello warned the population that the country is experiencing an “important outbreak” of Covid-19 and that according to the current panorama, the authorities are visualizing that the situation “is going to get more and more complicated.”
“People barely have 48 hours with symptoms and in less than 48 hours we have intubated in hospitals,” said the health professional.
