We have listened to a Swedish singer with Argentine roots in Jose Gonzalez in Latvia already at the festival Positivity, where the artist has performed with the band “Junip” in 2014 and with solo concerts in 2008 and 2017.

Jose Gonzalez began his solo career in 2003 with his debut album Veneer presenting himself as a representative of a lyrical indipop, characterized by gentle vocals accompanied by a musical accompaniment of an acoustic guitar. With the release of his debut album, the artist introduced the audience to his long-sought musical style, soothing and always relevant.

Association Junip the artist formed it in the late 90’s with two childhood friends and in 2000 applied it as a sophisticated, almost ethereally psychedelic folk rock association. Lazy dynamic band debut album Fields (2010) became a favorite of listeners and music critics.

In his latest studio album Local Valley (2021) the artist continues to be faithful to his characteristic style. In this album, Gonzalez focuses on a more local range of topics, which is reflected in the title of the record. It includes not only the sounds of nature recorded in the artist’s yard, but also compositions recorded in English, Swedish and Spanish.
