José Agustín Ortiz Pinchetti is bid farewell with a funeral mass

Mexico City. To say goodbye to José Agustín Ortiz Pinchetti, who passed away this Saturday, relatives of the head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Electoral Crimes (FISEL), as well as founding columnist of The Daythey organized a funeral mass at the funeral home where his remains are being laid to rest in Mexico City.

In addition to Loretta Ortiz, wife of Ortiz Pinchetti and minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, the ministers who are also members of the Plenary of the Court, Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena, Luis María Aguilar Morales and Javier Laynez Potisek, also attended. The counselor of the Federal Judiciary, Bernardo Bátiz, also attended.

Upon leaving the funeral home, Ortiz Mena, the family of Ortiz Pinchetti, highlighted his legacy. “I can speak more about someone who was a relative of mine, we are relatives on the Ortiz side, he is a person I loved very much, he is a person I have known for a long time and I lost an uncle.” He described him as a person with “incredible integrity, an outstanding lawyer and a man of principles and an ethical and moral attitude towards life that should be an example for all of us,” he indicated.

For his part, Bernardo Bátiz said that Ortiz Pinchetti was “a man of integrity who fought for Mexico all his life, with his convictions and a very close companion in struggles and a very good friend.” When recalling his career, he stressed that “the fourth transformation is the work of a great leader and of a people and of many collaborators, among them he is undoubtedly.”

Also in attendance was the Secretary of the Interior, Luisa María Alcalde, as well as dozens of friends and family members who filled the two rooms designated for the mass.
