Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel says Jorginho does not need the Ballon d’Or before he can be considered one of the best players in the world.
Jorginho is third behind Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski in the Ballon d’Or, which Messi of PSG won for the seventh time.
Jorginho guided Chelsea to the Champions League title as he played a key role in his country’s Euro 2012 triumph over England, a victory that is widely expected to see him win the award.
Tuchel said he would hope the 29-year-old Jorginho would focus on collective achievement, that is, national or team, rather than voluntary donations.
According to Tuchel, winning the Ballon d’Or is the best team of the year considering that any player who wins the award is the team that has reached the milestone, not just him.
