Jorge Mendes Comments on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Transfer to Al-Nassr: “He is the Best Player in the History of World Football”

Asked about his breakup with Cristiano Ronaldo, the famous agent Jorge Mendes finally spoke about his former client. He notably commented on the transfer of the fivefold Ballon d’Or to the Saudi club.

Jorge Mendes has accompanied Cristiano Ronaldo for most of his career. The two men formed an incredible duo and were the most charismatic agent-player pair in football. However, it all came to an end with the Portuguese star’s transfer to Al-Nassr, Saudi Arabia.

The Portuguese agent has no grudge against Ronaldo. Despite the rift between the two, Mendes was full of praise for the Funchal native: “Cristiano is where he is. That’s life. He is in Arabia and we should all be very grateful to Cristiano for everything he has done for football and for Portugal. He is Portugal’s greatest ambassador. Cristiano will always be in my heart.

He is a special player and a special person for me. And all of us Portuguese should be proud to have had and continue to have a player like him. I will say it all my life: he was and he is the best player in the history of world football! Mendes clarified that he has “a great personal relationship” with his former foal.

At 38 and in the home stretch of his career, Cristiano Ronaldo wants to continue winning club and selection titles.
