After starting at the end and being touched by his own teammate, Marco Bezzecchi did a great recovery race to finish fifth. Fabio Quartararo He scored again in the championship and came sixth. Jack Miller, Maverick Viñales, Raúl Fernández and Fabio Di Giannantonio completed the top-10.
Alex Marquez He was left out of the Indian GP after suffering a hard crash in Q1. The pilot fractured three ribs and also confirmed that he will not participate in the Japanese GPwhich takes place next weekend.

Many chaotic events preceded the Indian GP sprint race. First, early in the morning, the pilots asked to shorten the short race and the main race due to the high temperatures in Buddh. Therefore, the sprint went from 12 to 11 laps, while the premier class GP decreased from 24 to 21 laps.
The schedule continued as normal in the early hours of this Saturday (23) until a strong storm arrived at the Indian circuit before Q2 of Moto3. As it was a new track and had generated a lot of concern even before the debut, the race management had decided to do a short 15-minute free practice session for MotoGP on the wet track, before the sprint. The pilots would train and could also simulate the start.
However, as time passed and the smaller categories used the track, the route practically dried up. Even so, the premier class chose to maintain training, precisely so the pilots could get a feel for the track. The only driver using wet tires at that time was Brad Binder. Joan Mir also tested them.

In the end, Jorge Martín finished training ahead with 1min49s017. The wet compounds were only tested at the beginning, and the grid was then divided between the slicks — soft and medium.
Before the start, more delays in the schedule. Training ended at 7:50 am (Brasília time) and the opening of the pit-lane was only authorized at 8:30 am. The choice of tires was unanimous: medium at the front, soft at the rear.
Red lights off, start already bumpy: Luca Marini, Stefan Bradl and Pol Espargaró were involved in an accident and went to the ground in the first corner. Apparently, everyone is conscious and well.
Ahead, Jorge Martín was at the front and had Francesco Bagnaia, Joan Mir and Marc Márquez in pursuit. The crash in the first corner was caused by a clash between Marco Bezzecchi and Marini. #10 ended up touching his teammate’s rear tire, suffered a bad crash and took the other two. Bezzecchi fell to last place, but continued in the race. The rest abandoned.

Martín was already 1s6 ahead of Pecco who, in turn, had to worry about the pressure from the two Hondas. Best weekend of the season for the golden wing brand. Brad Binder was fifth, Fabio Quartararo, sixth.
The fourth fall of the short race was Joan Mir, who slipped alone and fell with his RC213V. A great missed opportunity given the potential that Honda presented in India. Márquez, however, did his best to have a safe race and remained in third place.
Bezzecchi managed to recover well and was already in tenth place. Shortly afterwards, he overtook Raúl Fernández and was already in the sprint scoring zone. Johann Zarco also suffered a crash further back, but managed to return to the track.

With four laps to go, Martín just needed to manage his advantage of more than 2s4. Bagnaia, Márquez, Binder and Quartararo formed the top-5. Bezzecchi was already in sixth place. Aleix Espargaró was another one to suffer a fall and also left the race.
In the end, Martín won the sprint very calmly. Bagnaia and Márquez complete the podium. Binder, Bezzecchi and Quartararo appear next.
