Runner up MotoGP 2023 Jorge Martin ‘threatens’ to leave Ducati in the upcoming 2025 MotoGP if he doesn’t get factory racer status.

Currently Martin is still a racer for Pramac Racing, a Ducati satellite team. The racer from Spain decided to stay at Pramac in MotoGP 2024.

The strong reason for the 25 year old racer to stay at Pramac is because the quality of the Desmosedici GP23 motorbike is equivalent to that of the factory Ducati team (Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini).

With the Desmosedici GP23 Jorge Martin helped Ducati win the constructors’ championship faster. Pramac also emerged as the winning team in MotoGP 2023.

“I’m sure I’ve shown enough from my side [kualitas] factory team,” said Martin as quoted from Corrieredellosport.

“I will definitely stay with Pramac in 2024, because I feel very comfortable, while for 2025 we’ll see,” Martin added.

Martin’s doubts about his future at Ducati are his ambitions to become a factory team. This born racer thinks he deserves to be labeled a factory team racer for MotoGP 2025.

“The difference with the factory team is not that much in terms of technical material, but from the point of view of the power provided, the factory team has control over other racers,” said Martin.

“That is something I will take into account for the future,” Martin continued.

In MotoGP 2023 Jorge Martin almost ruined Francesco Bagnaia’s dream as a factory racer to win back-to-back championships. However, Martin failed to take advantage of opportunities in the last few races.
