Jorge Martin be the fastest on Thailand MotoGP Qualification 2023. He also broke the Thai MotoGP lap record.
Thailand MotoGP qualification took place at the Buriram Circuit, Saturday (28/10). Qualifying session 1 (Q1) was attended by Marc Marquez, Franco Morbidelli, Jack Miller, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Pol Espargaro, Joan Mir, Raul Fernandez, Alex Marquez, Enea Bastianini, Takaaki Nakagami, and Miguel Oliveira.
Alex Marquez was immediately able to record the fastest time. However, his time was surpassed by his older brother Marc Marquez.
However, Alex was then able to improve his time record. He was ahead of Marc Marquez in second place. The Marquez brothers are entitled to take part in Qualification 2 (Q2) thanks to the results in Q1.
Jorge Martin, who previously dominated Free Practice 1 (FP1), immediately stepped on the gas in Q2. He recorded the fastest time of 1 minute 29.491 seconds.
However, his time record was surpassed by Marco Bezzecchi. Bezzecchi was at the top with two minutes remaining in Q2.
Martin did not remain silent. It responded well towards the end of Q2.
This racer from Spain returned to the top thanks to his best time of 1 minute 29.287 seconds. Martin also broke the best Thai MotoGP lap record. He is entitled to pole position in the Thailand MotoGP race.
Meanwhile, Bezzechi had to slip to fourth position. He was displaced by Luca Marini who pushed into second place and Aleix Espargaro who was able to secure third position.
The leader of the drivers’ standings, Francesco Bagnaia, was only able to finish sixth. His position is better than the Marquez brothers with Alex Marquez in seventh position and Marc Marquez in 8th place.
