Jordi really chooses the Indonesian national team, the grandmother is proud

Jakarta

Grandma Jordi Amat from Makassar is proud that her granddaughter will strengthen Indonesian National team. One more step Jordi Amat will become Indonesian Citizens (WNI).

PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member assigned to take care of players naturalization, Hasani Abdulgani, has met Jordi Amat and his grandmother. Hasani has just been guerrillas in Europe to meet players of Indonesian descent.

Besides Jordi Amat, Hasani also met with Sandy Walsh, Shayne Pattynama. There were also two young players, Jim Croque and Ivar Jenner, who were approached to strengthen the Indonesia U-20 national team at the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

Hasani met with Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh in Belgium. Both are playing in Belgium.

“Jordi Amat actually brought a big family, brought his father, mother, sister, grandmother, grandfather. So we met everyone,” said Hasani, who went to Europe since April 6.

“There were a lot of discussions at the meeting, we chatted, got to know each other. His grandmother was really proud that her grandson could play in the national team, because her grandmother was an Indonesian who was born in Makassar,” he added.

Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh became the descendant player who was most likely to finish the process first than the other players. Both players have no problem changing nationalities to strengthen Indonesian National team.

Even so, there are still some documents that need to be processed to complete the naturalization file. Hasani also brought a myriad of documents to be signed by the descendants of the players.

“We need more seminars, because otherwise, it’s not easy to naturalize people. Naturalizing athletes who are still active and naturalizing retired people is very different,” said Hasani.

“Our regulations are more inclined to people who want to retire in Indonesia. If athletes are still active, let alone have a career in Europe, it’s a bit tough with our current regulations,” he said.
