Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Jordi Amat he admits he is very happy, excited and looking forward to his debut match for the Indonesia national team in the 2022 AFF Cup.
Johor player Darul Ta’zim only received WNI status in November 2022 and FIFA authorized the transfer of his association, from the RFEF to the PSSI in December 2022.
After nearly a month of training in Bali, Jordi finally had the opportunity to try weed at Bung Karno Main Stadium on Tuesday (20/12). This is the first fitting of the costume arriving from Bali.
“This is what I’ve been waiting for. I’m very excited. Our workouts are going well and very hard. I think our team is ready,” said Jordi who was still sweating.
“All the players have been waiting for the first match and are ready to give their best performance for all the Indonesian people. Of course, we will be happy to wait for the 30,000 fans to come,” he said.
Considering that Elkan Baggott and Sandy Walsh were absent, Jordi had the opportunity to become Shin Tae Yong’s first choice. This 30-year-old player could be a duet with Fachruddin Aryanto, Rizky Ridho or Hansamu Yama.
In training on Tuesday (20/12) afternoon, Sandy was seen wearing an orange tank top. Jordi’s co-stars are Egy Maulana Vikri, Ricky Kambuaya and Mark Klok. This seems to be a sign that he will become a key player.
If the debut comes true, the opponent he will face is Cambodia on Friday (23/12). This match will take place at Bung Karno Main Stadium and spectators are welcome.
“At the moment we are focused on the match against Cambodia because the first match is very important. So we have to give our best performance. We have to play well in this tournament,” said Jordi.
“I am very hopeful and confident after seeing the performance of the whole team during 22 days of training together in Bali. I am proud to be here and to be a part of this team,” he enthused.
Ahead of his debut for the Indonesian national team in the 2022 AFF Cup, Jordi Amat has again stressed that he wants to see the support of tens of thousands of fans at GBK.
“I can’t wait for the 30,000 spectators to fill the stadium. I know that when we play Thailand, more fans will come. So this is good news for the Indonesian people. So let’s hope this is an interesting match,” said Giordi.
