The documents for the two descendants of the players to become Indonesian citizens (WNI) were signed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, on Wednesday (9/11/2022). They just have to take an oath to officially become Indonesian citizens.
Previously, the PSSI had expressed hope that the two could strengthen themselves Indonesian national from AFF Cup future. A part from that, Jordi Amat And Sandy Walsh he also applied to join the Indonesian National Team Training Center (TC) in Bali at the end of November.
The PSSI’s wish, however, can be granted provided that its administrative acts are completed within the allotted time. The AFF itself has a deadline for registering players who will play in the AFF 2022 Cup which will be held from December 20, 2022 to January 16, 2023.
“The opportunity for both of them to play for the Indonesian national team in the AFF 2022 Cup is approaching. The reason is that if both players were sworn in before November 20, 2022 (deadline for player registration), it is possible that both were brought by Shin Tae-yong AFF Cup 2022“wrote the PSSI statement.
At the moment it is not known when the two will undergo the oath. Special Sandy Walshhe is still actively playing with his club in Belgium as the competition is currently slated until the 2022 World Cup to be held in the near future.

“I have just received the presidential decree concerning Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh which has been signed. Only the trial of Shayne Pattynama is still pending,” Amali told the Kemenpora office on Wednesday (September 11).
“I don’t know because it’s not our domain, it’s in the realm of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. But as the competition is still ongoing, I suspect they will virtually be sworn in,” he said.
