Miami –
Thicker taste Barcelona Of Inter Miami. Jordi Alba has officially followed Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets to the Major League Soccer (MLS) club.
Inter Miami announced that they had completed the recruitment of Alba on Friday (21/7/2023) in the morning WIB. The left-back is under contract until the end of the 2024 MLS season, with the option of an additional year.
The 34-year-old defender was recruited free of charge after leaving Barcelona this summer. Alba’s joining made Barcelona’s scent even thicker, with Messi and Busquets joining first.
“We know that he will help Inter Miami achieve the club’s objectives this season and beyond,” said Inter Miami’s Director of Sport Chris Henderson.
“Jordi is an accomplished, dynamic and experienced player who we are excited to sign to continue strengthening our squad. He has proven over the decades that he is one of the best full-backs in the sport due to his solid defense and ability to contribute to attack.”
Alba this summer ended an 11-year journey with Barcelona. Together with Barca, the native Catalunya defender won six LaLiga titles, five Copa del Rey trophies, and one each of the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, Inter Miami’s efforts to round up former Barcelona haven’t stopped. They reportedly still want to recruit Luis Suarez, who is currently strengthening the Brazilian club Gremio.
