Jordan vs South Korea Ends in 2-2 Draw at 2023 Asian Cup

There are no winners in the game 2023 Asian Cup between Jordan vs South Korea. South Korea scored a goal in injury time to ensure the match finished 2-2.

Group E match between Jordan vs South Korea took place at Al Thumama Stadium, Doha, on Saturday (20/2024) evening WIB. Taeguk Warriors took the lead first thanks to Son Heung-min’s penalty, before Jordan went ahead thanks to own goals from Park Yeong-woo and Yazan Al Naimat.

Jordan then maintained its lead until the normal time for the match ran out. However, Park Jin-seop’s kick hit Yazan Al Arab and scored an own goal which benefited South Korea.

With this additional point, Jordan is still at the top of the group standings after collecting four points. South Korea is in second place with the same points.

South Korea were immediately awarded a penalty in the early minutes, following Ehsan Haddad’s violation. Son Heung-min stepped forward as executor. The Tottenham Hotspur star fired an accurate low kick into the bottom corner of Jordan’s goal.

South Korea took a 1-0 lead over Jordan in the ninth minute.

Jordan equalized in the 37th minute. From a corner kick on the left wing, South Korean midfielder Park Yong-woo misjudged the ball, so his header went into his own net. Jordan 1, South Korea 1.

Before halftime, South Korea almost scored a second goal. Son Heung-min’s free kick went narrowly wide of the side of the goal. Jordan wasted a golden opportunity after Tamari lost momentum in the penalty box after being closely guarded by Kim Min-jae.

Jordan finally managed to score his second goal in first half injury time. Yazan Al Naimat scored a goal to make the score 2-1.

From the counter-attack, Mousa Tamari fired a shot from the front of the penalty box but it was blocked. The ball was controlled by Al Naimat, who continued with a hard kick into the top corner of the South Korean goal.

South Korea survived defeat. Park Jin-seop scored South Korea’s second goal to make the score 2-2 early in injury time.

The raid from the right wing continued with the crossing received by Son Heung-min on the left wing. Son sends a pull to Park to finish with a kick that hits Yazan Al Arab before entering the goal.

Korea looked for a third goal by continuing to attack Jordan. However, there are no additional goals until the match is over.
