Jordan National Team I don’t want to be careless when facing it Malaysia in the opening match 2023 Asian Cup (2024) for maximum points.
Jordan is superior in FIFA rankings over Malaysia. Apart from that, this West Asian country has beaten Harimau Malaya twice in the last four years. These two facts do not make Jordan arrogant.
The Jordanian coach and players are both wary of Malaysia in the match which will take place at the Al Janoub Stadium, Al Wakrah, Tuesday (16/1) early morning Indonesian time.
“We are well aware that the match will not be easy, so the key is to maintain concentration. We will try to be aggressive, maximize our energy on the field,” said coach Hussein Ammmouta as quoted by Named.
“We don’t want to take our opponents lightly, we will take a serious and focused approach without assuming superiority. Our main goal is to get three points and start the tournament with a positive start,” said Ammouta at a press conference.
Jordanian defender Ehsan Hadad did not want his and his teammates’ optimal preparation to result in disappointing results in the first match. Hadad also explained that he was not lulled by the previous record of meetings with Malaysia.
“History does play an important role, but our current focus is on the present. The team continues to develop, including the Malaysian team, even though we won twice against Malaysia, but we are anticipating tomorrow’s match and we have prepared optimally to face the challenge,” Hadad said.
“The training camp is taking place with optimism. We are taking lessons from the last two test matches to evaluate our mistakes,” he said.
Jordan will play three test matches before the 2023 Asian Cup against Lebanon, Qatar and Japan. The result was Jordan losing 1-2 to Lebanon, winning 2-1 over Qatar, and losing 1-6 to Japan.
