Jordan Harris was left out in a USA win

The World Championship took off today. We are watching, at the Canadian, Josh Anderson (Canada), Joel Armia (Finland), Frederik Dichow (Denmark), Jordan Harris and Sean Farrell (United States). These are the five representatives of the Flannel.

And this morning, Quebec time, the United States faced Latvia.

What we notice, first of all, is that Sean Farrell was playing on the fourth line. As a prospect, maybe it’s normal that he doesn’t get the most ice time – and he didn’t get a single point in a 4-1 victory.

But Harris did not play. He was left out for the game.

Why was it left out? Is the American defense that impenetrable? Is it the young person’s lack of experience that means he has to wait for a position to become available?

I do not know. But until then, he can still learn from the veterans.

That said, as reported on Marker, journalist Jared Book seems to think there’s more to it.

He suspects something might be keeping him out of the lineup, as he’s not on the official American roster. Is something wrong?

I hope he will be able to get back into the lineup soon. That said, to mention that his place is open may mean that he will be the extra man if ever big American defensemen were to be eliminated in the NHL and had to land in the tournament.

He would possibly be the one who will take the hit in such a case.

But OK. Whether he plays or not, Harris is stepping into USA Hockey, which is good for the rest of his career. In the next few years, it could take off and come back in force.

Recall that Canada is playing against Germany at the time of writing this article.
