Joost (22) from Kapelle is building a futuristic hyperloop: ‘I want to show that this is already technically possible’ | Zeeland news

This new means of transport can reach speeds of up to 1000 kilometers per hour. That’s ten times faster than a roller coaster. Joost thinks the hyperloop is a promising development in transport. “It has the speed of an airplane, but without the emissions,” he explains. “That speed is achieved by the ‘train’ – called a pod by the students – which travels through an ‘overground tube’. It is a high-speed transport system that uses near-vacuum tubes through which the pod moves without air pressure. The pod floats through the tube, as it were, so that you do not suffer from air and rolling resistance and can reach high speeds. The train is electrically powered. So completely sustainable.”
