Jonava Hospital, which is becoming the birthing center of Central Lithuania, offered a new service to all women giving birth here – two free visits to the new city swimming pool, baby area.
Mothers-to-be from other cities come to Jonava in search of a cozy environment after the obstetric departments in hospitals in the surrounding districts were closed last year. Meanwhile, in Jonava, on the contrary, in order to maintain the department, more wards have been installed and are ready to receive more women.
The word about the good conditions and excellent specialists quickly spread, so last year a fifteen-year birth record was achieved at the Jonava hospital – 418 children were born during the year.
Safe and comfortable
“We try to make women feel safe and comfortable with us, so each one here has a separate ward, which ensures privacy and comfort. The renovated wards of the obstetrics department are equipped with television, free Wi-Fi, aromatherapy, listening to music, relaxing in the bath.
We offer mothers-to-be a balanced meal, which we serve in modern thermos containers,” says Indrė Grušaitė Vanagienė, head of the obstetrics-gynecology department of the Jonava hospital.
The head of the department is happy that the Jonava hospital has started cooperating with the new city swimming pool, so it can offer mothers-to-be a new service – a free visit to the baby pool.
“It’s no secret that mothers are exhausted and tired after giving birth, that’s why we have prepared gift vouchers for all our mothers – invitations to regain strength and relax in the space for mothers with babies in the Jonava swimming pool,” invites I. Grušaitė Vanagienė.
The Jonava pool is a newly opened, modern water entertainment and sports complex. The pool has as many as five different saunas, a baby pool, a small pool for children’s swimming lessons and a long swimming pool – 4 lanes, 25 meters long.
The mayor and the municipality take care
Jonava district municipality also takes care of the city hospital and aims to encourage births in Jonava. The municipal council made a decision to award mothers in labor a one-time payment, which currently amounts to 157 euros. This benefit is paid to all parents of babies born in Jonava hospital, regardless of where they live or declare their place of residence.
The mayor of Jonava, Mindaugas Sinkevičius himself, shows attention to mothers, who last year congratulated the 300th baby born in the Jonava hospital and soon rushed to congratulate the 400th.
This year, over 100 babies were born in Jonava.
“Of course, that number started to grow when the surrounding districts closed their obstetric departments, but women can always choose where to give birth, so I have no doubt that they choose Jonava Hospital primarily because of the good reviews about the conditions found here and our excellent specialists,” – says the mayor of Jonava.
Jonava Hospital and the specialists working here are waiting for expectant mothers from all over Lithuania! It’s a small detail, but there are as many as seven parking spaces in the hospital parking lot near the obstetrics department – reserved for expectant mothers and mothers with babies.
