Entering week 41 starting October 11, 2022, the World Badminton Federation (BWF) has again updated the rankings of the best badminton players in the world. Jonathan Christie is one of the Indonesian athletes who has undergone a change of rank.
On the BWF website, it can be seen that Jonathan’s name, who originally was eighth in the men’s singles top ten, has risen to seventh place with a total of 76,912 points. He is close to Anthony who is stable in sixth place with 77,599 points.
He moved Japan’s main badminton player Kento Momota who went on to drop to ninth place. Above Kento is Lakshya Sen (India) which rises to eighth place.

Another Indonesian player who has changed again is the men’s doubles Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo / Marcus Fernaldi Gideon. Unfortunately, after climbing to second place last week, the Minions are back in place. Now Kevin / Marcus are in third place, replaced by Lee Yang / Wang Chi Lin (Taiwan).
Meanwhile, other Indonesian badminton athletes, especially those in the top 10 in the world, are still in their respective positions.
For example, Hendra Setiawan / Mohammad Ahsan and Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto. They are still in position, respectively fifth and sixth in the men’s doubles sector.
The ranking of Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu also remains in fifth place even if the two couples no longer compete together in the women’s doubles sector. Greysia said it would hang up the racketeering in June.
Meanwhile, Apriyani, which is now paired with Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, is still trying to enter the top ten in the world. Currently, the two are ranked 24th after moving up two places with a total of 45,690 points.
Likewise, Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva who are in fifth place. Both have been absent from several tournaments since last June. Praveen is still recovering from the injury he sustained during the 2022 Indonesia Open.
Melati in anticipation of Praveen’s recovery has undergone several tournaments with his temporary partner, viz. Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani and Hafiz Faizal.
Together with Reza, he won second place in the Indonesia International Series 2022 tournament and the quarter-finals of the Vietnam Open 2022. While with Hafiz, Melati will only be tested at the Indonesia International Challenge from 11 to 16 October, and the Indonesia Masters 2022 at Malang, from 18 to 23 October.
