Jonathan Meijer himself previously appeared in court
In 2023, Jonathan Meijer himself appeared in court and was ordered to stop donating sperm, because according to the judge he had lied about the number of children he had fathered. While the father claimed to have only 25 children, it turned out to be considerably more, which is far above the maximum set by clinics.
The case was brought by Stichting Donorkind, which warns of the health risks and well-being of donor children. The foundation is concerned that these children may later unknowingly develop a relationship with a half-brother or half-sister, with all the consequences for their offspring. Although Jonathan Meijer says he stopped donating sperm in 2019, he continues to donate to families who have previously had a child from him.
