Jonathan Majors, an actor, apprehended in New York on charges of domestic violence

After responding to an emergency call on Saturday morning, and after “a preliminary investigation,” police determined that “a 33-year-old man was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. The victim said he had been assaulted,” according to a statement sent to AFP.

The woman, whose relationship to the actor has not been clarified, was taken to hospital with minor head and neck injuries in “stable condition.”

The actor’s lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, assured, according to local media, that Majors is not only innocent, but that “she is proven to be the victim of an altercation with a woman she knows.”

“We are rapidly collecting and presenting evidence to the district attorney in the hope that all charges will be dropped imminently,” Chaudhry said.

Majors’ representative, Carrie Gordon, said in a statement published by The Angeles Times that the actor “has done nothing wrong.”

“We hope to be able to clear his name and clarify” what happened, he added.

According to local media, the actor was released without bail and will have to attend a hearing on May 8.

The incident comes at an important time in Majors’ career, with major roles in recent films including Marvel’s “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” , the Walt Disney franchise, or “Magazine Dreams”, a film recently presented at the Sundance Film Festival.
