Jonathan Dahlén was injured when San Jose was zeroed by Washington

One of the big Swedish exclamation marks this NHL season has been Jonathan Dahlén’s debut season in the league. The former Timrå player has accounted for seven goals and two assists in 16 matches so far this season. With his seven goals, he is the best goal scorer among rookies this season along with Lucas Raymond.

In tonight’s game against Washington, he and his San Jose got it tough though. San Jose was zeroed and Dahlén went out with an injury after colliding with John Carlson. The Swede touched his shoulder and arm when he left the ice and he did not return to the ice again.

For Washington, Alexander Ovetchkin’s quest to become the best goal scorer ever in NHL history continued. He scored two goals and has now scored 14 goals this season, only Leon Draisaitl in Edmonton is better with his 18 goals.

In total, Ovetchkin has scored 744 goals during his NHL career. Only three players are better and he is within reach to overtake Jaromír Jágr this season. The best of all time is Wayne Gretzky with 894 goals, so far.
