Jonathan Christie drove to Final Indonesia Masters 2023. This was after Jonathan got rid of the Chinese representatives Shi Yuqi.
Semifinals Indonesia Masters 2023 held at Istora Senayan, Saturday (28/1/2023) afternoon WIB, Jonathan had to go through a three-game duel for 1 hour 13 minutes 21-13, 15-21 and 21-19.
The first game was fierce from the start when Jonathan and Shi Yuqi were involved in a numbers chase. Shi Yuqi had a 10-8 lead before being equalized 10-10.
This game interval belonged to Shi Yuqi who won 11-10. Jonathan went on a rampage with eight straight points to go 18-11.
Shi Yuqi only added two points before Jonathan ended the first game with a 21-13 advantage.
Entering the second game, Shi Yuqi took control and stepped on the gas to lead 8-2. Jonathan got up to get closer to Shi Yuqi’s points.
Jonathan won five consecutive points to make the score 7-10. Shi Yuqi, who was 11-7 in the interval, lost his momentum so Jonathan could catch up.
Jonathan approached Shi Yuqi when he was only 14-15 behind. However, Shi Yuqi, through a combination of punches that troubled Jonatan, was able to gain six points to close the second game 21-15.
Entering the decider game, the numbers chase started again from the start until Shi Yuqi took a 11-9 lead at the interval. Jonathan was reluctant to give up and forced the score to be equal 14-14 and 16-16.
Jonathan seized the momentum with two punches that entered Shi Yuqi’s field of play and won 18-16. Jonathan got game points 20-17.
However, Shi Yuqi made Jonathan nervous when he reduced the score to 19-20. Jonathan’s one punch lethal make it win 21-19.
Jonathan Christie qualify for the final of the Indonesia Masters 2023 and wait for the winner Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo vs Ng Ka Long Angus.
