That bicycle change went relatively smoothly, but undoubtedly cost Jumbo-Visma easily ten seconds.
In the final settlement, Vingegaard eventually had to give up 32 seconds on stage winner DSM and 26 seconds on the Soudal-Quick Step of competitor Remco Evenepoel.
