The Dane Jonas Vingegaard has extended his contract with Richard Plugge’s cycling team by three years. Plugge is director of the Jumbo-Visma formation, but the supermarket chain will stop as the main sponsor at the end of 2024. It is not yet known who will be the new lender.
The 26-year-old Vingegaard, who has been racing for Jumbo-Visma since 2019, is now racing for the Dutch team until 2027, which he delivered the first overall victory in the Tour de France last year.
The Dane has already won six stage victories this year and won the Tour of the Basque Country and the O Gran Camiño. He finished third in Paris-Nice.
