After Stina Blackstenius became a hero and scored the only goal of the cup final, Arsenal’s Jonas Eidevall went to thank Chelsea manager Emma Hayes.
Then an upset Hayes pushed the Swedish coach.
In an interview after the match, she accused Eidevall of “male aggressiveness”.
– There is a code of conduct on the sidelines. He got a yellow card but should have been sent to the stands, she said BBC.
Emma Hayes highlights a situation between Eidevall and Chelsea player Erin Cuthbert.
– The way he confronted her was unacceptable.
Explains the pictures – yelled at players
Television footage from the match shows Cuthbert throwing a throw-in near the Arsenal bench. An upset Jonas Eidevall screams and gestures with his arms, Cuthbert then approaches the coach and appears to say something to him.
After the match, Eidevall explains why the emotions bubbled over.
Jonas Eidevall showed his displeasure on the sideline.
Then he ended up in an exchange of words with Chelsea’s Erin Cuthbert.
It was about what the teams had agreed on before the cup final, he tells BBC.
– Chelsea wanted to use a ball. Then we played with one ball, but at the end of the match they wanted to use another ball to be able to start the game quickly. I said this and Erin was not happy about the situation.
It is not the first time the Swede has received criticism for his actions on the sidelines. Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor accused Jonas Eidevall of bullying the fourth official.
The Arsenal manager said at the time that he was disappointed by Taylor’s comment.
