Actor Jon van Eerd will not return as his alter ego Harrie Vermeulen. In the performance Like father Like Son Van Eerd will play Vermeulen for the last time after fifteen plays, he announced Tuesday at Time for MAX.
“After fifteen titles, Harrie Vermeulen is ready for some rest. I will certainly never let him go, because I am grateful for what he has brought to me and my audience,” says Van Eerd. “Harrie has been rocking for more than twenty years, has made people intensely happy and can give the feeling that there is nothing healthier than laughing. I am grateful for that. I will take it deep into my own. heart”.
The alter ego Harrie Vermeulen was at the center of Van Eerd’s comedies. Van Eerd played it Charlie’s aunt, the Bonbon factoryin Orange top. In 2013, Van Eerd released her single, called One thing I know for surewhich has since become the anthem of his Harrie Vermeulen.
In the latest performance on Harrie Vermeulen, Vermeulen lives in the home of his successful son Junior (Joey Schalker). This leads to confrontations with Junior’s arrogant and self-righteous secretary (Nandi van Beurden), who is determined to hook up with her boss. Like father Like Son can be seen in Dutch theaters until April.
Vermeulen’s farewell does not mean that Van Eerd will stop doing theater. He continues to write and direct for his production company Pretpakhuis.
