The writer Jon Bilbao had not read “Mockingbird” by Walter Tevis, but when the publisher Impedimenta asked him to translate it for publication in Spanish, he did not need to read many pages to decide to give a new life to this timeless classic of the highest science fiction literature.
When Walter Tevis (San Francisco 1928 – New York 1984) was teaching English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Ohio between 1965 and 1978, he realized that the literary level of the students was dropping alarmingly.
