President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) discuss with French President Emmanuel Macron and the Crown Prince and Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) after the welcome dinner at the G20 summit in Bali. The moment of unity of the three leaders was full of laughter.
The G20 Indonesia Welcoming Dinner and Cultural Performance event was held in Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), Bali as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube account on Tuesday (15/11/2022). Jokowi initially shook hands with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ms. Peng Liyuan. Xi then spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Jokowi then spoke to Macron and MBS while standing. The three leaders talked at length. Jokowi standing next to First Lady Iriana.
It seemed that Jokowi was explaining something to Macron and MBS. Jokowi moves his hands when he speaks.
As he spoke, Jokowi was also seen laughing. Not only Jokowi, MBS also laughed at the time of the match. Meanwhile, Macron seemed to move his body to push MBS who was next to him.
At another point, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak appeared to be chatting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino with Rwandan President Paul Kagame. At the end of the event, the leaders returned to the night’s location to continue the next day’s activities.
For your information, this banquet is part of the G20 Bali Summit activities. On Tuesday afternoon (11/15), world leaders attended Session I and Session II of the Summit to discuss priority issues for Indonesia’s G20 presidency.
On Wednesday (16/1) the series of activities of the G20 Summit will resume. World leaders will attend Session III of the Summit before the event officially closes and the G20 presidency is handed over to India.
