Jokowi’s Usung Prabowo to Become a Presidential Candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election Is Considered Right, Observers: Can Continue Development

WARTAKOTALIVE.COM – It is considered appropriate for Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to propose Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto as his replacement in the presidential election on February 14, 2024.

Jokowi’s support for Prabowo Subianto is also considered reasonable.

This is because Prabowo Subianto is his minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

“The choice to provide support to Prabowo Subianto as the next president is most appropriate to continue President Jokowi’s development program.”

“It is a very reasonable political choice for President Jokowi,” said Political Observer Bawono Kumoro, Monday (10/7/2023).

According to him, on the last few occasions, President Jokowi has summoned Prabowo Subianto three times. Good for just talking to lunch together.

Researchers from the Indonesian Political Indicator (IPI) said Jokowi’s steps were often enough to summon and casually chat with the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party.

Because of that, President Jokowi’s attitude succeeded in stealing the public’s attention.

“On various occasions for state activities, the President almost always invites Prabowo, who is his subordinate in the cabinet,” said Bawono.

“Can this togetherness be seen as a hard code from the President regarding who is most expected to be president for the next five years? It could be interpreted that way,” he continued.

Reflecting on the implied support expressed by President Jokowi, it turned out to have a big impact on Prabowo Subinato.

This is recorded in the results of a survey published by Indonesian Political Indicators.

In the survey held May 26-30 2023 with a total of 1230 respondents, Prabowo Subianto was in first place with a simulation of three presidential candidates.

The general chairman of the Gerindra Party managed to get a total support of 38 percent.
