For information, President Jokowi was previously known as a graduate of the UGM Faculty of Forestry. He completed his university education in 1985.
The question of the alleged fake diploma arises from the efforts of Bambang Tri Mulyono, the author of the book Jokowi undercover who filed a lawsuit against Jokowi for allegedly bogus diploma in the 2019 presidential election on October 3, 2022.
The case was filed with the Central Jakarta District Court and was registered under the case number: 592 / Pdt.G / 2022 / PN Jkt.Pst.
In his petition, the plaintiff wanted the Central Jakarta District Court to claim that Jokowi had committed a wrongful act in the form of misrepresentation and / or providing false documents in the form of diplomas (graduation proof) for elementary schools (SD ), High Schools (SMP) and High Schools (SMA) on behalf of Joko Widodo.
The defendants in this case are President Jokowi (defendant I), the General Electoral Commission / KPU (defendant II), the People’s Consultative Assembly / MPR (defendant III) and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and technology / Kemenristekdikti (defendant IV).
Meanwhile, the presidential staff, Dini Purwono, has asked all parties not to sue. He assessed that law enforcement shouldn’t be forced to deal with fabricated cases.
Dini explained that Jokowi has original degrees of various levels of education. He said that all of Jokowi’s diplomas could be proven valid.
“Our society has to get smarter every day. You don’t get used to it”joke“law enforcement officers and courts with invented and unfounded claims,” said Dini via text message to Mr. CNNIndonesia.comTuesday (4/10).
The General Election Commission (KPU) confirmed that it held the 2019 presidential election according to the rules. They claim to have worked according to procedures, including registration of election participants, which was carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
