Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Chairman of the National Secretariat (Seknas) JokowiRambun Tjajo, hopes that the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) will support the PDIP Bacapres Ganjar Pranowo in 2024 presidential election coming.
Rambun invited the party led by Jokowi’s youngest son to have the same political direction as them. Rambun conveyed this invitation after Kaesang Pangarep as general chairman of the party and a number of PSI elites visited Jokowi’s National Secretariat office which is located in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (10/10).

“Of course Mas Kaesang and his PSI friends will take their own position. Although we would be very happy if we both wear striped clothes and all kinds of things in 2024,” said Rambun.
“We are clear that as an organization we already support Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate,” he added.
However, Rambun said they did not impose this desire on PSI. He also emphasized that their discussion this time was in the context of friendship, so they did not discuss much about the 2024 political contestation.
On the same occasion, Kaesang said that the meeting between PSI and Jokowi’s National Secretariat this time was also to discuss what could be synergized in collaboration towards the target of a golden Indonesia in 2045.
“Earlier, Mr. Ketum touched on the 2024 issue, so that’s no problem. However, the National Secretariat has already expressed support for Mr. Ganjar, so we [responsnya] OK, that’s it,” said Kaesang.
“That’s the choice of each volunteer organ, Mr President. But don’t ask us about it because we haven’t yet,” he added.
Kaesang said the reason his party had not yet made a political choice in the 2024 political contest was because PSI was still seeking aspirations from the community and cadres in the regions.
Kaesang said he would intensify meetings and consolidate several DPD and DPW PSI starting next week. He said this effort was carried out as a form of seeking grassroots aspirations regarding the figure of Indonesia’s future leader in 2024.
“We asked for aspirations from PSI friends in the regions, what they want. We have got it, but not all of it, we still need it,” he said.
