The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) expressed his deepest gratitude to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). SBY said thank you because of the care that Jokowi gave him.
That gratitude is expressed SBY when conveying his current state of health after undergoing prostate cancer surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA. The operation went well and he is currently recovering.
“After this medical action, major surgery I’m still recovering or recovery after that major surgery that I did in Rochester, today I also had a check-up. So far, after the procedure carried out 11 days ago, the team of doctors concluded that what I experienced was as expected for anyone undergoing prostate cancer removal surgery,” said SBY in a video uploaded to the Instagram account @aniyudhoyono, as seen detik.com, Tuesday (11/23/2021).
SBY then expressed his deep gratitude to Jokowi and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin. The gratitude was conveyed because of the assistance given by Jokowi-Ma’ruf to him.
“In particular, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. President Jokowi and Mr. Vice President Ma’ruf Amin for their care, concern, and assistance for the smooth running of my treatment in the United States,” he said.
In addition to Jokowi and Ma’ruf Amin, SBY expressed his gratitude to the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“I also thank Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri, the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, for her attention, concern, and prayers for what I have experienced,” said SBY in a video uploaded to the Instagram account @aniyudhoyono, as seen detik.com, Tuesday (11/23/2021).
SBY also thanked former Indonesian vice presidents Jusuf Kalla and Boediono. He thanked both of them for their prayers.
“Also my friend, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who sent a letter of prayer for my recovery for treatment at the Mayo Clinic,” he explained.
Furthermore, SBY also expressed his gratitude to all those who had prayed for him. He hopes that all who pray for him are given health and kept away from cancer like he experienced.
“Hopefully you will always get protection from Allah, physical and spiritual health and free from cancer that we both worry about,” he said SBY.
