President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will confer the Mahaputera Star to the former TNI Commander Gatot Nurmantyo. Besides Gatot, former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Arief Hidayat will receive a similar award.
This information was conveyed by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md via Twitter account @mohmahfudmd as seen detikcom, Tuesday (3/11/2020). Apart from Bintang Mahaputera, Jokowi will confer the title of national hero.
“On November 10 and 11 2020 the President will confer the title of National Hero (PN) and Bintang Mahaputera (BM). Those who get PN titles, among others, SM Amin and Soekanto; those who get BM, among others, Gatot Nurmantyo and Arief Hidayat,” wrote Mahfud.
As quoted from the Setkab.go.id website, Mahaputera star is an appreciation for the outstanding services of a figure in various fields that are beneficial to the progress, welfare and prosperity of the nation and state.
The Mahaputera Star consists of several classes ranging from the Main Mahaputera Star to the Nararya Mahaputera Star. Previously, Jokowi also awarded the Main Mahaputera and Nararya Stars in the series of events for the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. There were a number of figures who were given awards, from Fadli Zon to Fahri Hamzah.
