Jokowi and Gianni seemed to be smiling. They show a moment of intimacy as they shake hands.

After that, Jokowi invited Gianni to enter Jepara’s room. Jokowi and Gianni then talked about a number of things.

Information regarding Gianni’s expected arrival in Indonesia had previously been forwarded directly to President Jokowi. Jokowi and Gianni will discuss the transformation of football in Indonesia.

“Later, the FIFA president will come to Indonesia in October or November to discuss with the government,” Jokowi said in a press release via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube account on Friday (7/10).

On that occasion, Jokowi announced that FIFA would not impose sanctions on Indonesian football after the Kanjuruhan tragedy. This was written in a FIFA letter received from Jokowi.

Note, the letter follows Jokowi’s communication with FIFA president Gianni Infantino last Monday (3/10). FIFA then sent a reply letter to Jokowi, one of which was a notification that there would be no sanctions for Indonesian football.

“According to the letter, thank God, Indonesian football is not sanctioned by FIFA,” said Jokowi.

Jokowi also communicated another point in the FIFA letter. One of these is related to the collaboration between the government and FIFA to form a transformation team for Indonesian football.

“FIFA together with the government will form an Indonesian football transformation team and FIFA will have an office in Indonesia during these trials,” he said.
