New variants of Corona Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 are now appearing in the country. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) The public has also warned that there will be an increase in positive cases of the Corona virus in the community.
The Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin conveyed Jokowi’s warnings after holding a limited meeting (ratas) with Jokowi at the Palace, Jakarta, today. Jokowi asked that the new Corona variant be anticipated.
Budi said there were a number of emphasis given by Jokowi as a precautionary measure. The anticipatory step is from the vaccine booster to the use of masks.

According to Budi, the Omicron BA.4 and BA5 waves are likely to be reached one month after the first case was discovered. Therefore, he suspects the peak of Omicron BA.4 and BA5 cases will occur in the second or third week of July.
