President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) warned regional heads about the right to build places of worship. Jokowi expressed this because he still heard reports that residents had difficulty carrying out worship according to their beliefs.

Initially, Jokowi emphasized that freedom of worship is the right of every citizen. This right applies to any religion.
“Then, while also meeting with the regents and mayors. Regarding freedom of worship and freedom of religion. Be careful. Those who are Christians, Catholics, Hindus and Confucians, be careful. They have the same right to worship. Have the same rights. the same in terms of freedom of religion and worship,” Jokowi said at the National Coordination Meeting.
