President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will inaugurate. Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and KGPAA Paku Alam X as Governor and Deputy Governor of DIY for the period 2022-2027. The inauguration took place after the determination of the DIY DPRD.

As quoted by detikJateng, the DPRD had previously appointed Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and KGPAA Paku Alam X as Governor and Vice Governor of DIY for the period 2022-2027. This determination is prior to the maximum grace period of October 10, 2022.
The president of the DPRD DIY, Nuryadi, stated that with this provision the task of the DPRD DIY complies with the law n. 13 of 2012 on the privileges of do-it-yourself and al Perdais on the procedures for the determination of the governor and vice-governor of do-it-yourself.
“We have carried out all the mandates of the Privileges Act and the Perdais. It is hoped that, with this faster phase, the President and the Minister of the Interior can immediately inaugurate the President and the Minister of the Interior,” said Nuryadi after the DIY Governor and Vice Governor’s Determination Plenary Meeting at the DIY DPRD Office, Tuesday (9/8). ).

For information, the DIY Governor and Vice Governor posts during this period will end on October 10, 2022. Additionally, the Sultan and the enthroned Paku Alam will be inaugurated as a pair of DIY regional leaders with no general elections like other regions. This is in accordance with the provisions of the Special DIY Law number 13 of 2012, where the offices of Governor and Vice Governor of DIY are held by determination, not by election.
